Yoletty Bracho is a contract assistant professor in political sociology at Avignon Université. Her research explores the relationships between state institutions and social movements, with a particular focus on participatory practices and transformations of the state in the context of Venezuelan authoritarianism. Drawing on political sociology and the sociology of public action, she examines the interactions between grassroots organizations, public institutions, and processes of authoritarian consolidation. Her work has been published in academic journals including Sociétés contemporaines, Cahiers des Amériques latines, and Espacio Abierto. She is currently preparing a book based on her PhD dissertation, titled Militer dans l’État. Révolution, participation et consolidation autoritaire au Venezuela, to be published by Terres de feu Press.
