Colette Capriles is a Fellow of the Academy of Political and Social Sciences, Venezuela. Associate professor, Universidad Simón Bolívar, Caracas. Editor of Argos, peer-reviewed and indexed journal, 2012-2018. She has wide experience in the design, administration and evaluation of social and cultural policy programs, as well as consultancy with diverse political and civil society organizations. She was awarded with the Federico Riu Philosophical Research Award, 2001. Fulbright Scholar, Summer Institute in American Political Development, 2003. Her current research includes the classical and modern political philosophy of tyranny, Twenty-First Century democracies, and Venezuelan modernity.
