Francisco Rodríguez is a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Economic and Policy Research and a Faculty Affiliate at the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs.  He holds a Ph.D in economics from Harvard University and is specialized in economic growth, international economics and political economy. His research has appeared in The Lancet Global Health, Journal of Politics, American Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Growth and World Development, and he is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, Financial Times, Foreign Affairs and Foreign Policy.  His book The Collapse of Venezuela: Scorched Earth Politics and Economic Decline was published by The University of Notre Dame Press in 2025.
